What's buzzin', cousin? The 50s are fat city! Think about rock n' roll! Electric instruments, great rhythms, fun for dancing - teenagers love it. We've got Elvis, Chuck Berry, and Little Richard!

That's the word from the bird! And we have more entertainment because of the new fangled television. We can watch quiz shows, family shows, and keep up with rock and roll on American Bandstand. And we can buy television stuff in the stores. Like my cool Davy Crockett hat?

It sure is boss. But you want to know something that isn't? The poverty that is plaguing many in our nation. The economy may be booming, but farmers and farmworkers are suffering in rural areas, as are coal miners. And I sure wouldn't want to live in the inner cities - those ghettos are becomoing islands of poverty, mostly for minorities.

As soldiers returned home from WWII, they need jobs. So, women were pushed out of jobs. 800,00 women lost their jobs in the aviation industry and men brought home the bread.

Sickness were no sweat, polio was cured in extreme screams. People could get medicine, to help common colds, along with life threatening diseases. NO more fears of polio.

Yeah and now with those boss interstates, it's so much easier to get places quickly in your chariot. You can even burn rubber sometimes

But with the boss interstates and your quick chariot. There will be more pollution, that will kill our environment.

But that's not our biggest problem. Those shuckster Reds are trying to spread communism.
People are getting scared and perinoid that everyone around them is a communist and there also scared of Nuclear War.

Yea, but even if they were worried about those Reds, the economy was still booming. Jobs and the housing markets were up!

But the housing still wasn't improving for African Americans, they still were being looked down upon and couldn't get any good housing.

The Department of Health, Education, and Welfare improved the lives of millions of people by setting standards for medicine, schools, and welfare. It sure was a fat city.
